MUMBAI (ICIS)--India's HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd (HMEL) is likely to resume polypropylene (PP) production at its plant in Bathinda either in the middle or end of September after more than two months of shutdown, industry sources said on Friday.

HMEL has stopped production at its 440,000 tonne/year PP unit following a fire at its 180,000 bbl/day refinery at the site in late June.

The restart of PP output is expected to ease supply constraints in the country, the sources said.

The company could not be reached for comment.
