China DAP exports drop steeply in July year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Chinese diammonium phosphate (DAP) exports in July dropped significantly year on year, according to China Customs data from Global Trade Information Services (GTIS) released this week.

Exports of DAP in July totalled 284,453 tonnes, down from 303,164 tonnes in June and 46.16% lower than the 528,324 tonnes exported in the same month of 2013, according to data from China Customs.

In the first seven months of 2014, 1.56m tonnes of DAP were exported, up 48.85% than the 1.05m tonnes exported in the same period of 2013.

Meanwhile, monoammonium phosphate (MAP) exports were 308,641 tonnes in July, up from 171,044 tonnes in June and 224.14% higher than the 95,220 tonnes exported in July 2013. The main destination was Brazil with 212,167 tonnes, up 220.58% on the year earlier.

In January-July 2014, China exported 904,769 tonnes of MAP, significantly higher than the 293,259 tonnes exported during the same period in 2013. The main destination was Brazil with 471,615 tonnes, more than double the 191,024 tonnes exported in the first seven months of 2013.
