LONDON (ICIS)--Uzbekistan’s chemicals and fertilizer firm OJSC NAVOIYAZOT is proceeding with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and caustic soda project in the country's southwestern Navoiy province, a Chinese chemical engineering company confirmed on Friday.

China CAM Engineering, which won a contract for the project, said that capacities would include 100,000 tonnes/year of PVC and 75,000 tonnes/year of caustic soda.

The project's contract value is almost $440m, and the construction period is 36 months, CAM said. It did not say when production will begin.

In 2012, NAVOIYAZOT suspended a PVC and caustic soda project it had planned in a joint venture with a South Korean firm.
