LONDON (ICIS)--OMV has begun restart procedures at its refinery at the Burghausen petrochemicals production hub in Germany’s Bavaria state following a power failure, a spokeswoman for the Austria-based energy and petrochemicals major said on Wednesday.
Spokeswoman Theresa Kaiser said that the outage, due to a failure in the public power grid, occurred at around 13:00 German local time on Tuesday, 26 August.
"No damages to persons and plants occurred," she said.
"The refinery is already in start-up procedure and will be back in operation as soon as possible," she added.
She did not comment on capacities or possible impacts on downstream production at Burghausen.
