HOUSTON (ICIS)–US butadiene (BD) contracts for September were nominated by a fourth producer at a decline of 4 cents/lb, sources said on Thursday.
The final nomination would separately put September contracts for three producers at 56 cents/lb ($1,235/tonne), if accepted by buyers.
Previously, the producer that had settled its August contracts at 66 cents/lb had nominated a drop of 4 cents/lb, which would put its September contracts at 62 cents/lb.
Spot trading activity in August had been thin, with prices in the low 60 cents/lb range, as most buyers were comfortably covered by contractual business amid improved domestic availability, as well as previously ordered imports.
Major US producers include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell Chemical and TPC Group.
