US Evangeline Pipeline restarted after two-month outageHOUSTON (ICIS)–The US Evangeline Pipeline has been restarted after a two-month outage, sources said on Wednesday.

The pipeline, which extends between Texas and Louisiana and was recently purchased by Boardwalk Partners, was originally shut down on 10 October because of a pinhole leak.

Sources said Boardwalk began restart preparations on 13-14 December and began moving material through the pipeline early this week.

The restart is expected to balance ethylene prices between Texas and Louisiana, as several producers in Texas can now move material to their preferred destinations.

During the outage, sources said the premium for Louisiana ethylene over Texas material was 8-12 cents/lb ($176-265/tonne).

On Wednesday, bids for Louisiana material were heard at parity to Texas material, although most expect that the premium will move to 1.0-1.5 cents/lb because of pipeline fees.
