Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah dies

HOUSTON (ICIS)–Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah has died, according to news agency ThomsonReuters, quoting state television early on Friday.
His brother Salman, who had been crown price and defense minister became king and appointed Muqrin as crown prince and heir.
Despite the uncertainties, there was no immediate impact on oil prices, with March light sweet crude on NYMEX electronic trading rising towards $47.50/bbl.
