BERLIN (ICIS)–The oil price drop will not solve Europe’s competitiveness challenges, according to Dorothee Arns, executive director, petrochemicals industry sector at trade group CEFIC.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 49th annual European Petrochemical Association conference, she said that the region still suffers from high energy and feedstock prices compared to other regions.
Costs are now double those of the US, compared with three to four times higher before oil prices dropped, she added.
