Demand for polycarbonate in Russia falls by 4% in 2015

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russian polycarbonate (PC) consumption decreased to about 86,000 tonnes in January-December 2015, down 4% compared to the same period last year, according to a MRC ScanPlast report on Monday.
The share of imports in the total consumption of PC granules decreased from 39% to 25%.
In 2016, market players expect a further fall in imports into the Russian market on the back of rouble devaluation.
At the same time, weakening demand in the market of
finished products will affect the market and balance the
deficit arising in the feedstock market during seasonal
peaks.
