Brazil to launch EPS plant in June

HOUSTON (ICIS)–Brazil petrochemical producer Videolar Innova plans to launch the production of an expanded polystyrene (EPS) plant at Triunfo, a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, located in the south of the country, a source familiar with the issue said on Thursday.  

The EPS plant will be producing 24,000 tonnes/year, and is projected to be inaugurated on 22 June, another source said.

Videolar Innova already operates both styrene and polystyrene (PS) plants in Triunfo.

Brazil PS producers are Videolar Innova, and Unigel.
