Asia ethylene margins down on weaker spot prices

HOUSTON (ICIS)–Ethylene margins were down across the board in Asia for the week ended 27 May, the ICIS margin report showed on Tuesday.

Naphtha-based ethylene margins in Northeast Asia fell 7.5% to $606/tonne, while LPG-based ethylene margins fell 12% to $618/tonne.

Spot prices in the region were down $45/tonne week on week, and cracker co-product credits were down as well.

In Southeast Asia, naphtha-based ethylene margins fell 5.4% to $614/tonne, while LPG-based ethylene margins fell 11% to $585/tonne.

Spot prices in the region fell by $40/tonne, and cracker co-product credits were also down week on week.

Feedstock costs for naphtha-based ethylene fell in NE Asia and SE Asia, by $26/tonne and $27/tonne, respectively. For LPG-based ethylene, feedstock costs were up by $25/tonne in NE Asia and SE Asia.
