LONDON
(ICIS)–French oil major Total said on Monday that
30 members of the labour union CGT have
blockaded its Donges and Gonfreville
refineries from the inside, but fuel shipments have
resumed from its Grandpuits and La Mede refineries.
A company spokesperson said the blockade has prevented the
restart of the Donges refinery, where 94% of the
staff had voted late on Thursday to call off strike
action.
Workers also voted to end industrial action at Grandpuits
refinery near Paris late on Friday. The refinery is
currently being restarted, the spokesperson said.
Truck loadings of fuel from the Grandpuits refinery have
been resumed, the company said.
Production at La Mede refinery in the south of France is back
to normal and fuel from the refinery is being delivered to
service stations mainly by pipeline, Total said.
