Russia output of products from polymers in Russia grows 1.6% in May

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russian output of finished
products from polymers rose 1.6% month on
month in May, representing a slowdown from the 5.4%
growth recorded in April, according to MRC
analysts.
Sector output grew 8.2% year on year from January to May
2016.
According to the Federal Service of State
Statistics, May production of plastic pipes, hoses
and fittings rose to 51,600 tonnes from
43,600 tonnes a month earlier. Overall
output of these products totalled
199,300 tonnes in January-May 2016, up
by 12.4% year on year.
Last month’s production of unreinforced and
non-combined films grew to
80,200 tonnes from 79,300 tonnes in April.
Output of films increased over the stated period by
7.6% year on year, totalling
362,500 tonnes.
May production of plates, sheets and non-porous
films fell to 24,300 tonnes from
27,500 tonnes a month earlier. Overall output of
these products rose to 113,100 tonnes in
January-May 2016, up by 5.3% year on
year.
Last month’s production of plates, sheets
and porous polymer films was 19,700 tonnes,
compared to 20,800 tonnes in April. Overall
output of these polymer products went up over
the first five months of 2016 by 2.6% year on
year to 95,100 tonnes.
