MOSCOW (MRC)–Imports of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) into Belarus decreased to 6,200 tonnes in the January-April period, down 20% year on year, according to MRC DataScope.
According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, April PVC imports into Belarus practically remained at the level of March at 1,700 tonnes.
Belarusian converters did not manage to increase the
volume of resin purchases in April because of the limited
export quotas from Russian producers.
Demand for PVC in the country decreased to 6,200 tonnes in
January-April, compared to 7,700 tonnes in the same period of
2015.
The main reason for such a significant decline in processing volumes was the fall in export sales of finished products, in particular the profile-moulded products.
Exports of profile-moulded products from the country in
four months of this year decreased by 42.4% compared to the
same period in 2015.
The key suppliers into the local market during the reporting
period were Russian producers, whose share rose to 75%, of
the total volume of shipments, which totalled 4,700
tonnes.
The second and third place was shared by producers from Germany and Poland with the volumes 704 tonnes and 507 tonnes, respectively.
