VIDEO: Inauguration of Ethylene XXI in Mexico

HOUSTON (ICIS)–In this Spanish language video, executives from Brazil petrochemical major Braskem and Mexico’s Grupo Idesa talked about the inauguration of their joint venture, Ethylene XXI, during a press conference in Mexico.

The complex, which has begun operations with production capacity of more than 1m tonnes/year, will likely reconfigure polyethylene trade flows and price structures throughout Latin America over the coming months and years.

Roberto Bischoff, CEO of Braskem Idesa, and Jose Luis Uriegas, director general of Idesa Group, discussed the project and supply of ethane from Pemex.

Inauguran Etileno XXI

La compañía petroquímica de Brasil, Braskem y el grupo mexicano Idesa, presentaron su complejo Etileno XXI. El complejo petroquímico, que ya está en operación, producirá más de un millón de toneladas de polietileno al año, con el fin de suplir al mercado doméstico mexicano y al de exportación. Etileno XXI fue inaugurado el miércoles 22 de junio, en Coatzacoalcos, México. Roberto Bischoff, Director General de Braskem Idesa, y José Luis Uriegas, Director General del Grupo Idesa, hablaron del proyecto y del suministro de etano por parte de Pemex.
