SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp is targeting to restart its No 6 aromatics unit in the first week of September, after a shutdown in mid-August, a company source said on Tuesday.

The aromatics unit was previously brought offline because of insufficient feedstock from its upstream unit, following the unexpected shutdown of the company’s residual catalytic cracker (RFCC) unit on 16 August, the source said.

The unit, which has a nameplate capacity of 25,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 105,000 tonnes/year of toluene, was previously running at 70-80%, the source said.

The company still plans to shut the unit for scheduled maintenance by 1 October, the source added.
