China September vehicles sales grow 26.1% on year; output up 32.8%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–China’ s vehicle sales in September reached 2.56m units, up by 26.1% year on year and up by 23.5% month on month, official industrial data showed on Wednesday.

Its vehicle production in September stood at 2.53m units, rising by 32.8% year on year and up by 26.8% compared with August, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

September’s sales of passenger cars increased by 28.9% year on year and 26% month on month to 2.27m unit.

In January-September, the country’s total vehicle sales increased by 13.2% year on year to 19.36m units.

Total sales of passenger cars in the first nine months were up by 14.8% at 16.75m units, the data indicated.
