Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH)

SRI Consulting's Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) programme is a leading chemical marketing and business research service that has been published continuously since 1950. Now available through CNI, the individual CEH studies provide evaluation of supply/demand relationships and analysis of the competitive environment for around 250 chemical products and product groups.

Each CEH report contains the following sections:

  • Summary - A summation of current supply/demand situation and analysis of future growth. Major regional and global industry players are highlighted with a brief discussion on industry structure and concentration.
  • Supply - Pertinent information on producers, plant locations, capacities, capacity utilisation, and industry production and sales levels. Factors affecting industry supply are also evaluated.
  • Demand - The demand analysis is the highlight of each CEH report. This includes assessment of the size and nature of individual end-use markets, as well as an evaluation of trends and driving forces affecting current and future consumption.
  • Trade - Import and export histories, shipment values, major countries of origin or destination, and tariff rates.
  • Price - List price histories, unit sales values, current market prices and discussion of factors affecting prices.
  • Manufacturing processes - Description of various commercial processes used.
  • Environmental issues - A brief discussion of the principal legislative, industry and consumer concerns about environmental issues.

Geographical coverage emphasises North America, Western Europe and Japan. When appropriate, other regions are included such as Eastern Europe, South Korea and Taiwan.
