Chemtura Corporation is a global manufacturer and marketer of specialty chemicals, crop protection and pool, spa and home care products. The company is split into two groups: Performance Products and Engineered Products. Chemtura

 

Chemtura’s strategy is to overhaul its non-flame retardant plastics additives business, continue to restructure its portfolio and streamline costs while exploring revenue enhancing opportunities. In addition, Chemtura plans to expand globally, focusing mainly on Eastern Europe and China for growth.

 

Looking ahead, the company says that it is committed to growing and increasing the value of the company and becoming a more “formidable competitor”.

 

Chemtura was formed on 1 July 2005 from the merger of Crompton and Great Lakes Chemical. Headquartered in Middlebury, Connecticut, US, it had sales of $2.8bn and around 4,400 employees in 2010.
