DIC, formally known as Dainippon Ink and Chemical, is a diversified Japanese chemical company. DIC has four business segments: graphic arts materials; industrial materials; high performance and applied products; electronics and information materials. 
The company says that its medium-term management plan aims to build on its accomplishments and position it on a new growth track for the future. Its key objectives are shaping the market for colour-related businesses and developing innovative, high performance materials that create comfortable spaces.
In addition DIC plans to achieve significant cost reductions by revamping production processes, expand businesses and enhance income by increasing sales of newly developed products that respond to market needs, capture markets in high-growth regions and implement measures to realise the competitive potential of next-generation products and businesses.
DIC has 23,613 employees with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and sales of Yen932m in the year ended 31 March 2009.
