Company Intelligence: Polimeri Europa

Polimeri Europa | Company Information from ICIS

Polimeri Europa,  a wholly owned subsidiary of the Italian oil company Eni, operates in the business of olefins and aromatics, basic intermediate products, chlorine derivatives, polyethylene, polystyrene and elastomers. Polimeri Europa is divided into four divisions: Basic Chemicals, Polyethylene, Styrenics and Elastomers.

Polimeri Europa is changing its approach to marketing on a global scale, reinforcing its competitiveness after a series of mergers aimed at optimising and developing its business. It is the result of a 'focusing process' where it claims its strength lies in the integration from raw materials to production plants, from research laboratories to technology, up to the interface with the market so it can be regarded as a single supplier with finding solutions.

Polimeri Europa's research is aimed at the perfection of new high-performance product lines, the development of innovative processes and the strengthening of proprietary technologies. In order to attain these objectives, Polimeri Europa makes use of a team of about 700 researchers and technologists.

Polimeri Europa had sales of €6.3bn and around 65,000 employees in 2008.
