Teijin Strategy & Financial Highlights

Teijin states that the deterioration of global economic conditions triggered by the financial crisis originating in the US prompted a sharp downturn in the automotive, electronics and other major markets of Teijin. This precipitated a steep decline in demand in its materials businesses, which substantially eroded consolidated net sales and operating income in its Synthetic Fibres and Films and Plastics segments.
