Updated to Q3 2016
Asian methanol prices continued to take cues from the benchmark Chinese market, where the bulk of liquidities and volumes are. Spot prices in China saw firm support during the last three months supported by a slew of supply disruptions, decreasing market inventory level as well as increase futures prices listed on the Zhengzhou Connomidty Exchange. This was particularly evident in the post National Day holidays in China market, since the second week of October. On 31 October, spot prices were at $270-275/tonne CFR China.
