ICIS is implementing a process of rolling consultation on all of its pricing methodologies. This consultation paper is part of this formal process and covers all of the ICIS primary price points included in the melamine weekly publications.
The consultation asks both general questions about the suitability of the ICIS pricing methodology and questions addressing specific melamine market issues.

ICIS Summary and Decision
Following the consultation there was one response. The respondent noted that the Europe melamine contract assessment is made on the basis of accurate quarterly market movements, ie the deltas, but the absolute number is inflated. The respondent also noted that no other methodologies would be preferred and that the assessment serves the industry.
ICIS will not be proposing any immediate changes to the methodology of the Melamine reports. Any decision to change this methodology will be communicated to subscribers using the usual channels and with the usual notice period.
