ICIS received in total 3 responses to the Acetic Acid Methodology Consultation.

ICIS Initial Decision

There were three responses to the global consultation.

There was consensus that the current methodology is relevant to the market.

On the specific question about expanding the range of customer sizes covered by the European acetic acid quarterly and monthly contract price assessments, there was general agreement. This will be done from May 2014.

The question about redefining the US Gulf spot fob export price as purely “spot”, to include both FOB and FD spot prices, received just one response, which was in favour of the change. This will be further investigated, with a view to a final decision by August 2014.
