ICIS is implementing a process of rolling consultation on all of its pricing methodologies. This consultation paper is part of this formal process and covers all of the ICIS primary price points included in the base oils weekly publications.
The consultation asks both general questions about the suitability of the ICIS pricing methodology and questions addressing specific base oils market issues.

Summary of responses
Following the recent announcement that ICIS would be launching a formal methodology consultation process, we have received three private responses from key market players.
All three were enquiries about the consultation and price-gathering process, and received separate responses.
ICIS Initial Decision
ICIS will continue to use the current methodology for assessing base oils prices in all regions.
ICIS has answered the questions raised by the three respondents in individual correspondence.
ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its base oils methodology outside the formal consultation process.
