Consultation

ICIS may consult on specific changes to its price assessment methodologies from time to time. These changes may be to address an issue identified by ICIS in market structure, market behaviour, an existing methodology or in reaction to feedback from customers or market participants on any of these. Consultation paper GMC39/18, relating to the European Spot Gas Markets (ESGM) publication, was part of this process.

ICIS Initial Decision

ICIS will adjust its methodology in line with planned changes to the Turkish natural gas market. Specifically, on 1 September 2018,  Turkish natural gas market reforms are scheduled to end the current monthly balancing arrangement whereby shippers at the UDN manage their imbalances on an ex-post basis.

For ICIS to remain aligned with this Turkish gas market development,  ICIS will cease to publish
needs to end the daily price assessment of the Turkish Day-7 Ex-Post contract on 7 September.

ICIS will not make any changes to the Turkish Day-ahead gas assessment, which is not affected by the planned market reforms.

Please note that ICIS will continue to measure market trends and activity and gather feedback from participants on all of the markets for which it provides pricing. We welcome continued feedback from market participants outside of the formal consultation process
