Fatty Alcohols Methodology Consultation – Summary of responses

ICIS received only one response to the Fatty Alcohols Methodology Consultation 2017.
ICIS Decision
The respondent asked for the introduction of a separate China assessment for Fatty Alcohols.
ICIS has examined the possibility of adding this assessment, but since most natural fatty alcohols are produced in Asia, most of our information sources – even those in China – prefer to give their prices on an FOB SE Asia basis. From time to time, ICIS includes the domestic prices in Chinese yuan in the report for reference.
ICIS will not be proposing any immediate changes to the methodology of the Fatty Alcohols report. Any decision to change this methodology will be communicated to subscribers using the usual channels and with the usual notice period.
ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its Fatty Alcohols methodology outside of the formal consultation process.
