ICIS is implementing a process of rolling consultation on all of its methodologies. This consultation paper is part of this formal process and covers all of the ICIS primary price points included in the fatty alcohols weekly publications.
The consultation asked both general questions about the suitability of the ICIS methodology and questions addressing specific fatty alcohols market issues.

Summary of responses
Following the recent announcement that ICIS would be launching a formal methodology consultation process, we received one confidential response from the market. The respondent requested more forward-looking commentary in the European report.
ICIS decision
The responses do not provide any feedback indicating ICIS should change its current methodology for deals-based reporting of fatty alcohols markets in any of the geographical regions. ICIS will not be proposing any immediate changes to the methodology of the Fatty Alcohols Report. Any decision to change this methodology will be communicated to subscribers using the usual channels and with the usual notice period.
ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its Fatty Alcohols methodology outside of the formal consultation process.
