Mainland Europe and LNG to fill gap left by Rough outage

Natural gas supply from mainland Europe and LNG cargoes from north America are expected to fill any shortfall in supply for the 2016/17 winter that develops due to a 42-day shutdown at Britain’s largest storage site Rough.

An outage at Rough is expected to last until at least 3 August and raises the prospect that Britain will enter the winter with record-low stocks.

ICIS assesses the impact of this outage and looks ahead to see how northwest European traded volumes, flow patterns and prices may be affected in the coming months.
