PVC: Turkey’s internal and external challenges infographic

This infographic shows the internal and external factors which are currently affecting Turkish PVC demand.

Turkish PVC prices have trended downwards since the middle of 2015 due to problems in the market, principally weak internal demand as a result of a credit squeeze combined with internal conflict between security forces and the rebel Kurdish groups.

Civil wars and internal tensions in important export destinations which have also reduced sales opportunities.

Turkey is geographically in the European backyard, which has made it a tempting export destination for European producers concerned with avoiding flooding their own countries with material. This has contributed to the oversupplied market.
