ICIS has a network of locally based reporters providing coverage of regional Bisphenol A markets. They provide not just pricing information, but an in-depth understanding of the factors driving prices and market fluctuations.
Updated to Q2 2018
There was speculation that major European bisphenol-A (BPA) suppliers struggled with production issues throughout the second quarter, though all rumours were dismissed by official sources. Market participants felt a tightness on the market as demand outstripped the available material, supported by downstream products. The availability of imported material has been limited throughout the quarter as prices in Asia have continued to grow, leaving less incentive to send material to the European market.
European producers of BPA have maintained output through the second quarter, although the majority of this material has continued to be funnelled directly into integrated downstream capacity. Demand from downstream polycarbonate (PC) has remained consistent throughout the second quarter, but prices on the epoxy resins market started sliding in May and continued falling in June. This is yet to filter through to the BPA market as demand has supported prices to either stay stable or continue increasing.
We offer the following regional Bisphenol A analysis and news coverage to keep you informed of factors and developments affecting prices in the Europe Bisphenol A marketplace.
