Coronavirus industry forums

The coronavirus pandemic has been disrupting chemicals and energy supply chains, changing demand patterns and causing a significant impact on feedstock prices.

To help the industry navigate these turbulent times, we have launched a webinar series that explores how different markets can best get through the crisis.

ICIS Paints & Coatings Forum

Date: 5 November 2020, Thursday
Time: 8:30AM – 9:30AM UK time

After experiencing steep price corrections in H1, markets for some paints and coating raw materials have experienced stability in the third quarter. But can this continue given a steady improvement in demand and tight supply conditions. Titanium dioxide prices have moved up sharply in September. The price rebound for styrene monomer and methyl methacrylate have been more modest but this could be short lived. Developments in feedstock markets could also have an impact on these raw material. This webinar will analyse key price drivers in titanium dioxide, styrene monomer and MMA markets and give a perspective of demand and supply for the rest of this year.

China’s midstream reforms and their impacts on LNG demand

Date: 11 November 2020, Wednesday
Time: 10:00AM – 11:00AM Singapore Time

Chinese LNG consumption has been one of the few areas of growth for an otherwise depressed global gas market through 2020. While the rate of growth as deaccelerated this year, the country is still on course to become the leading importer of LNG in the coming years. In an effort to improve market access for new emerging domestic buyers, in October Chinese authorities launched a new midstream infrastructure operator known as PipeChina. Authorities hope that this new entity will open up the domestic market to global suppliers, bringing competition and improved energy security. To learn more on PipeChina and its potential impacts on the LNG market, please join ICIS expert James Fowler on 10am Singapore time on 11 November for this free webinar.
