LONDON (ICIS news)--Shell’s 2A cracker based at Wesseling, Germany is back up and running but its 2B cracker remains down with no restart date planned for the moment, a company source said on Thursday.

The two crackers went down on a power cut on 6 September. The 260,000 tonnes/year 2A cracker restarted on 12 September but the 240,000 tonnes/year 2B cracker remains down, the source said.

The 2B cracker was already running at reduced rates following a power outage late on 16 August, but up till 6 September, the 2A cracker had been running normally.
