HOUSTON (ICIS)--A fire on Tuesday morning at US-based Valero’s Houston refinery was quickly extinguished, according to a company spokesperson.

Valero’s emergency response team responded to a small fire on the west side of the 88,000 bbl/day refinery.

There were no injuries in the incident and an all-clear has been issued at the facility, said Valero’s Bill Day.

“Because alarms were sounded, a notice was put on the Houston CAER line notifying nearby residents that there was no environmental impact in the community and no steps were necessary on their part,” said Day.
