SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is expected to start up its new 150,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Hazira, in August, market sources said.
“The new SBR plant will be operational in the next few weeks,” a market source said. Hazira is located in the state of Gujarat, in West India.
RIL’s SBR plant is the second SBR facility to be built in India, following the start-up of a 120,000 tonne/year SBR plant by Indian Synthetic Rubber Limited (ISRL) at Panipat in the state of Haryana, earlier this year.
SBR non-oil grade 1502 prices were assessed at $1,940-1,980/tonne CFR (cost and freight) India on 23 July, according to ICIS data.
