LONDON (ICIS)--Vestolit is currently on force majeure for PVC, caustic soda, ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chlorine monomer (VCM) at its Marl, Germany site, according to a source from the company on Friday.
This follows an announcement of a production slowdown at Marl in May attributed to limited supplies of upstream products due to cracker shutdowns.
The source also noted that the shutdown is expected to last for another two to three weeks.
The Marl plant has a nameplate production capacity of 415,000 tonnes/year for PVC, 286,000 dry metric tonnes/year for caustic soda, 400,000 tonnes/year for VCM and 500,000 tonnes/year for EDC, according to ICIS data.
