EPCA ’15: Iran’s Entekhab group building three EPS plants by 2017

BERLIN (ICIS)--Iran’s Entekhab Investment Development Group (EIDG) is planning to build three new expandable polystyrene (EPS) plants in the country with a total capacity of 420,000 tonne/year by 2017, CEO Mohammad Reza Dayyani said.

The first 250,000 tonne/year plant is expected to come on line in January of 2016 while the second plant with 120,000 tonne/year capacity is expected to start by the end of 2016.

The third unit with 50,000 tonne/year capacity is expected to come on stream sometime in 2017, Dayyani told ICIS in an email.

All the three units will be located in Assaluyeh Styrene Park in south Iran.

The financial details of the investment were not immediately available.

The 49th annual European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting runs from 3-7 October.
