SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Shaanxi Yanchang Coal Yulin Energy and Chemical restarted its polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) units in Shanxi Province in the middle of September after over a month-long maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The PE and PP units were shut down in early August, and the shutdown lasted for about 36 to 39 days, the source added.
The restart will lead to increased supply and bearish sentiment, some market participants said.
These units include two 300,000 tonne/year LLDPE/HDPE swing units and two 300,000 tonne/year PP units.
Shaanxi Yanchang Coal Yulin Energy and Chemical is a 70:30 joint venture company between Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (group) Co Ltd and China National Coal Group Corporation.
