SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Bohua Petrochemical shut its 600,000 tonne/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Tianjin as planned on 12 March for a month-long maintenance, a company source said on Monday.
The unit was shut for its first catalyst change since the plant was started up in October 2013.
Most of the unit’s propylene output is supplied to oxo-alcohol and propylene oxide (PO) plants operated by Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group, the parent company of Tianjin Bohua Petrochemical. The rest are offered to contractual clients in Shandong.
An oxo-alcohol plant will be offline from end-February to mid-March while the rest of the downstream units will maintain normal operations during the shutdown at the PDH unit, the company source added.
