SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s Reliance Industries has shut its 900,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Hazira on 24 March for maintenance and upgrading, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The facility will be down for around 30 days, the source said.

During the turnaround, the company will raise the ethylene capacity of the unit by 30,000 tonnes/year and build in flexibility for the cracker to use ethane feedstock, the source said.

Some downstream units will also be involved in the turnaround, the source said.
