Shale oil boom to
peak in 2025, decline from 2030 –
OPEC
Tight oil supply from the US and elsewhere will
peak in 2025 and start to decline shortly
after, with OPEC crude production expected to
rise sharply around the same time, the oil
cartel said on Tuesday.
Shintech may
build US VCM plant, expand US PVC unit in
Louisiana
Shintech has filed a permit to build
a vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant
and expand an existing vinyls plant in
Plaquemine, Louisiana, according to documents
ICIS obtained on Tuesday.
Shell goes ahead

Shell has started the “main construction” of
its large-scale petrochemicals complex in
Pennsylvania, US, with expected production to
start “early next decade”, the Anglo-Dutch
energy and chemicals major said on Wednesday.

China Energy Investment Corp plans to invest
$83.7bn in shale gas development and chemical
manufacturing projects in the US state of West
Virginia, the West Virginia Department of
Commerce said on Thursday.

Texas
US-based Chevron Phillips Chemical (CP Chem) on
Friday celebrated the start-up of its
new polyethylene (PE) units in Old
Ocean, Texas.

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CP Chem) inaugurated
two new polyethylene(PE) units at its
facility in Old Ocean, Texas on Friday. ICIS
