S Korea’s exports to be supported by global
economic recovery – analysts
South Korea’s exports growth will continue to
be supported by the global economic recovery
this year despite the sharp slowdown seen in
February, according to analysts.
Asia SBR faces upward pressure from rising BD,
SM prices
Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) prices in Asia
are facing upward pressure from rising costs of
feedstocks butadiene (BD) and styrene monomer
(SM).
India’s robust HDPE pipe demand to keep film,
blow moulding supply tight
Buoyant demand for high density polyethylene
(HDPE) pipes in India will likely keep supply
of film and blow moulding tight, lending
support to import prices in the near-term.
India plastics industry eyes 3% of global
export market by 2025
India’s plastics industry is targeting at least
a 3% share of the global polymer export market
by 2025, to be achieved by a combination of
capacity expansion and technology upgrades,
industry executives said.
Asia SBR makers seek higher prices in India on
firm BD, SM costs
Asia’s styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) producers
are seeking higher spot prices in India on the
back of rising costs of feedstocks butadiene
(BD) and styrene monomer (SM), despite sluggish
demand from downstream tyre makers.
S Korea January exports of most petrochemicals
grow year on year
South Korea’s export volumes of most major
petrochemical items in January increased on a
year-on-year basis, in line with spikes in
value of its overall shipments abroad, with
strong trade growth expected for the whole of
2018 on the back of a healthy global economy,
according to analysts.
Indian ACN prices spiked under strong buying
but outlook mixed
India spot prices for acrylonitrile (ACN) rose
on good demand last week, but this uptrend may
not sustain if the buying interest falters in
near term, market participants said on Monday.
