US March contracts for molten and
flake phthalic anhydride (PA) settled
higher on Tuesday, tracking February increases
for feedstock orthoxylene (OX).

Nitrogen plans to build Iowa ammonia
plant
Greenfield Nitrogen plans to raise $120m to
build the first regional
anhydrous ammonia plant through
grass-roots ownership in Garner, Iowa, which
would produce about 120,000 short tons/year,
the US producer announced on Wednesday.
US president
signs proclamations on steel, aluminium
tariffs
US President Donald Trump signed on Thursday a
proclamation calling for tariffs on steel and
aluminium, a move that has been widely
criticised by the petrochemical and energy
industries.
Methanex
considering new methanol unit in Louisiana or
Canada
Methanex wants to build
another methanol plant in North
America and has turned the site search into an
“either/or” decision – either at Geismar,
Louisiana, US or Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
