HOUSTON (ICIS)--Alberta sulphur production from gas plants in June dropped for the third consecutive month, according to data from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER).
For the month, 112,987 tonnes were produced. This is a 7% drop month on month, and an 8% drop year on year.
It is the lowest production level since February 2016, when Shell's Caroline plant fell to barely 1,000 tonnes produced. The plant's monthly average that year was more than 28,000 tonnes.
Year to date, production is at 793,012 tonnes, lower than the same months in 2017.
