LONDON (ICIS)--European spot prices for refinery solvents fell further this week, according to an ICIS calculation based on recent feedstock movements.
Hexane prices were assessed at $532-605/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam and €777-862/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
The naphtha solvent price range was assessed at $543-632/tonne FOB Rotterdam and €745-816/tonne FD NWE while white spirit was $659-720/tonne FOB Rotterdam and €720-809/tonne FD NWE.
Prices for feedstocks naphtha, gasoline and jet kerosene have been dropping on falling crude oil prices.
Crude oil prices steadied in late November and have been rising in early December, though they remain significantly below prices seen in October and early November.
Prices have also fallen in the UK on falling crude oil, with a white spirit distributor seeing decreases of £0.06/litre over the last month.
The source said that current prices for white spirit were around £0.52-0.55/litre FD, though this could not be confirmed in the wider market.
Supply of refinery solvents is generally balanced, though supply of C10 naphtha solvent is tight.
The force majeure on C9 and C10 naphtha solvent from producer DHC is ongoing.
