Europe PE December prices down for CIS countries

MOSCOW (MRC)–European producers were reluctant to reduce polyethylene (PE) prices for CIS countries for December, despite a drop in the upstream ethylene contract, according to ICIS-MRC price report.
The December contract price for ethylene in Europe was agreed down by €110/tonne from November; however, reductions for PE being suggested by European producers were not proportional to the decrease in monomer prices, with reductions of just €70/tonne offered.
As a result, negotations for December high density polyethylene (HDPE) shipments were held in the range of €1,020-1,095/tonne FCA (free carrier), down by €50-70/tonne from November.
December deals for European low density polyethylene (LDPE) were discussed in the range of €980-1,035/tonne FCA, down from a range of €1,020-1,080/tonne FCA in November.
