FLORIDA (ICIS)--The US sulphur market has seen little movement this week following the Lunar New Year in Asia and a period of muted activity that is normal for the beginning of the year.
US Gulf sulphur supply is snug due to planned refinery maintenances that are typical in the first quarter.
The majority of the market remains on the sidelines, waiting to see what the first concluded deals will be once major importer China returns to the market.
Until then, prices remain stagnant with little movement seen.
Activity in the sulphur market was one of the many subjects discussed at The Fertilizer Institute's (TFI) annual meeting, which is held in February each year.
This year's event is being held in Orlando, Florida, and runs from 11-13 February.
