MOSCOW (MRC)–Belarus’ overall imports of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) decreased by 5.6% in 2018, year on year, to 32,600 tonnes, according to MRC’s DataScope report.

According to the statistical committee of the Republic of Belarus, local converters significantly reduced their purchasing of PVC in December 2018 under the pressure of seasonal factors.

Russian producers were the key PVC suppliers to Belarus, with around 88% of market share.

Producers from Ukraine and Germany, with market shares of 6% and 4%, respectively, were the second and third largest suppliers.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
