MOSCOW (MRC)–Russian producer Kazanorgsintez has begun shutting down its low density polyethylene (LDPE) production for a scheduled turnaround, according to a MRC Price Report.

Sources at Kazanorgsintez said that the gradual LDPE shutdown began on 10 April, and would conclude on Thursday.

The maintenance will last for nearly a month. The firm has the capacity to produce 140,000 tonnes/year.

Other shutdowns for maintenance at Russian LDPE plants are scheduled for July, with Angarsk Polymers and Gazprom neftekhim Salavat taking off-stream their production capacities.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
